Little Carter was an absolute dream to work with. 4.1 kg of beautiful little squishiness. And as a result, loved to sleep. I always recommend newborn photography before your baby is 12 days old, as it makes such a big difference with the baby’s temperament. And as such, much easier to photograph.
Little Carter was born with a cleft lip, and he wears it so well. This condition, which occurs in about one in every 800 babies in Australia, was detected in utero at just 18 weeks. Luckily it doesn’t trouble Carter too much as his palate was not affected, and therefore he is able to create perfect suction for feeding. For more info on cleft lip and cleft palate please see here.
I’m really looking forward to photographing this little one for his sitters session at around 8 months. He will be 8 weeks post operation and I’m sure, a sweet, chunky little monkey for me to play with.
